• To explain the role of optimization techniques in training machine learning models.
• To demonstrate mathematical modeling for neural networks and deep learning.

• Implement mathematical computations in Python for AI applications.

About Event
The National Science Day was celebrated on 28th February to commemorate the discovery of the ‘Raman Effect’ by one of the renowned Physicist of India- Sir Chandrasekhara Venkata Raman. The objective was to encourage scientific thinking and spread a message about the importance of science used in the daily life of the people. It also aimed to promote better understanding of concepts of pure science among students.
On the eve of National Science Day celebration, The Association of Basic Science at Jain College of Engineering, Belagavi organized various virtual events like:
Drawing and Painting: Channel your inner artist by drawing or painting a picture of your favourite scientist.
Rangoli: Get creative with rangoli by depicting science-related themes and concepts.
Mehandi: Explore the fusion of art and science by creating mehndi designs inspired by scientific elements.
Writing: Craft an insightful article on the life and contributions of your favourite scientist.
Demonstrations: Showcase scientific phenomena with explanations of the underlying principles behind them
Photography: Capture everyday objects and phenomena and elucidate the scientific principles behind them.
Creative Arts: Dive into DIY projects that merge creativity with scientific concepts.
Quiz:To spread awareness about the significance of science and its applications in our lives.
Competitions like these provide a platform for students to showcase their talents and fostered a spirit of scientific inquiry among them. More than 100 students participated in all events. The winners of each competition demonstrated exceptional skills and knowledge.

Dr.Manjula V. Kalyanshetti hosted the event.The event began withthe customary lighting of lamp and paying attribute to Srinivasa Ramanujan by offering garlands.Dr Prashant V Patil welcomed the dignitaries and Prof Shafiqahmed Yellur introduced the chief guest. Dr. Raviraj Kulkarniexplained that student must possess five qualities as described in our shashtraas.He then briefedthe Ramanjun’s magic square and his contribution to Mathematics..Healso elaborated howGraph theory can be applied to chemistry,AIML and other fields.He then enlightened the importance of Mathematics in Engineering.Dr. J Shivkumar Principal and Director of JCE, Belagavi highlighted to follow five qualities of Shashtraas and further shared that how JCE supports the students and faculties in research. Prizes were distributed to winners of the quiz competition conducted by Mathematics Deptto encourage critical thinking among students.The celebrationended with the vote of thanks by Prof. Pooja M.Jarali.

Jain college of Engineering (JCE), Belagavi welcomed the Parents and Students of 2023- 2024 batch through the Inaugural function “Shubha Aarambha -2023” which was organised on 21st September in the college premises.

Dr. S. Rohitraj, HOD, MBA Department welcomed dignitaries, parents and students.

The Function commenced with JGI prayer followed by an Invocation song by Miss Sakshi Shetty for invoking god’s blessings and lighting of lamp.

Prof. R.G Dharwadkar, Director JGI – North Karnataka, Presided over the function and Addressed the Gathering and highlighted how the attitudes, perceptions and mutual cultural values among people play a crucial role and advised students to inculcate moral values.

Principal & Director, Dr. J. Shivakumar, addressed the Parents & students briefly about the college, the various departments, faculties along with infrastructure facilities available.

Dean Academics Dr. Sachin Kulkarni briefed the gathering about the curriculum and Academics which is part of VTU.

Dr. Praveen Chitti, Dean Examination addressed the gathering about the Do’s & Dont’s as per the VTU curriculum, and about the VTU Examinations.

Colonel Melville A. Dsouza, Administrator JCE briefed the Parents & Students about the Rules and Regulations to be followed by students to maintain Discipline on the campus.

Dr. Prashant Patil, HOD Mathematics department and 1st year Coordinator Proposed the Vote of thanks.

The event began with paying attribute to SrinivasaRamanujan and inaugurating the Association of Basic Science.Dr. Raju Kotambri hosted the event,Dr. Prashant V Patil welcomed the dignitaries and Prof.ManjulaKalyanshetti introduced the chief guest.Honourable chief guest Dr. P R Hampiholi gave a brief review on the life and works of Ramanujanand highlighted the importance of Mathematics in various Engineering disciplines.He emphasized that Mathematics is a language of Science.He explained the importance of Mathematics for the development of humanity and motivated students to imbibe ethical values.Dr. J Shivkumar gave the presidential remarks.

The celebration was ended with the vote of thanks delivered by Prof A P Desphande.
