As part of our ongoing Earth Week celebrations under the Bharat Sustainable Campus Mission 2026, the CSE and MCA departments successfully conducted a cutting-edge “Digital Decarbonization” workshop!
Did you know that “Dark Data”—unused emails, duplicate files, and bloated cloud storage—contributes significantly to global CO2 emissions? Our students took a stand to change that.
Key Highlights of the Activity:
• Hands-on Optimization: 34 tech-savvy students performed real-time Google Drive cleanups and mobile storage optimization using smart filters.
• Energy Auditing with Code: In a brilliant display of technical skill, students used Python and Excel-based dashboards to calculate real-time system power usage and track the resulting CO2 emissions.
• Awareness Seminar: Led by our expert faculty, the session highlighted the environmental cost of our digital footprints and the path toward “Green Computing.”

1st Year MCA Inauguration Day of 2023-2025 batch

To mark a new chapter in the life of the students, an induction program was conducted on 13thMarch , 2024 at Jain College of Engineering,Belagavi for Post Graduation Programme in Computer Applications(MCA) 1st year students, to familiarize them with our institution’s structure, framework and campus.
To make the beginning a blessed one, Goddess Saraswati was invoked by lighting thelamp of knowledge and wisdom accompanied by a prayer song by the 2nd year students Miss. Indrayani Patil and Miss. Lakshmi Bhandari It was followed by awelcome speech by Dr. Poorna Chandra S, Associate Professor, Dept. of MCA. The chief guest was introduced to the audience by Dr. Praveen S Banasode, Associate Professor and Head, Dept. of MCA. Then the chief guest Dr. S B Hegde was called upon to address the audience wherein he encouraged the students with an inspiringspeechon Leadership qualities, Problem solving skills, formal communication, team work, adaptability, flexibility and Time management . And the Presidential remarks were given by Principal & Director Dr. J Shivakumar. And, the event was concluded by Dr. Sanjeev Sangami with a vote of thanks speech.

TechVenture Fiesta – 2K24

The Bedrock of Ayushman Bharat- A Societal Project

Ayushman Bharat Yojana or Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY) or National Health Protection Scheme is a centrally sponsored scheme launched in 2018, under the Ayushman Bharat Mission of (Ministry of Health and Family Welfare) in India. The scheme aims at making interventions in primary, secondary and tertiary care systems, covering both preventive and promotive health, to address healthcare holistically. It is an umbrella of two major health initiatives namely, Health and Wellness centres and National Health Protection Scheme (NHPS).

The Students & the faculty of MCA III semester visited Navage Village and educated the villagers to register online application for Ayushman Bharat card. The students had a good exposure of how emerging technologies are helping to address the societal problems in the health sector.

MCA Department has an MOU with Crimsun Technologies signed on 2nd January 2024.

Campus cleanliness drive as part of UGC SWACHHATA PAKHWADA

Outcome of the Program:
Parentswere happy tomeet and they were more interested into an offline meet but on some non-vocational day.

The parents of 2nd semester were invited for this offline mode of meeting.

•Teach latest technologies out of syllabus.
• Awareness program for the students.
• If any activity is taking place then they suggested to intimate them as well via WhatsApp group.

Industrial Visit

Name of the Event: “Industrial Visit”
Date/Place: (07 – 08 – 2023 to 11 – 08 – 2023) / Carve-Wing Software Solutions llp.
Under the Banner of: ASP (Association of Software Professionals)
Objective of the Event: To provide an insight of the real time experience of how an IT industry works.
Program Flow: Every day one faculty was in charge of taking 15 students to the industrial visit. Students got to interact with the IT professionals and learn about all options that are there apart from developing and testing jobs.
Outcome of the Program: Students gained some experience on what they will be focusing on and how they can achieve their goals.
List of all the Participants:
All the 59 Students of 2nd semester where part of this visit, they were divided into a group of 15 members and visited the location every-day until all students had the visit.
Feedback from the Participants:
•Got to interact with IT professionals.
•Got some insight idea of how an IT industry works.
• Got to clear their doubts.

Virtual Alumni Meet

Name of the Event: “Virtual Alumni Meet”
Date/Place: 12 – 08 – 2023 / Virtual Meet.
Under the Banner of: ASP (Association of Software Professionals)
Objective of the Event: To interact with alumni and know their current status.
Program Flow:
Prof. Rajendra Jotawar took the liberty to initiate the meet, followed by HOD-MCA Dr. Vidya Dandagi and other faculties respectively. In the end, JCE Principal addressed the gathering and discussed about the “Alumni Association”, the Vision-Mission of the institution and finally, took feedbacks from the alumni and ended the session.
Outcome of the Program:
Alumni were happy to participate in the virtual meet but they were more interested into an offline meet and Principal promised to have that next meeting will be an offline meet.

All the Alumni were from 2022 pass-out batch: Sammed M, Jyoti M, Pratik M and Satyamedha Hosur.
