An Industry–Institute interaction visit was conducted by the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Jain College of Engineering, Belagavi, to MG Motors, Desur, Belagavi, on 26-02-2026. The visit aimed to review the internship progress of final-year students, obtain industry feedback on the VTU 2025 Scheme curriculum, and explore collaboration opportunities including MoU and placements. During the interaction, Mr. Prasad Chougale, AGM and Industry Mentor, appreciated the students’ technical skills, professionalism, and adaptability to the industrial environment. Valuable suggestions were provided to enhance industry-oriented learning and practical exposure. The visit strengthened Industry–Institute collaboration and created positive prospects for future internships and placements.</p>

35 students from Jain College of Engineering (JCE), Belagavi, participated in a two-day workshop on ESG &#038; CBAM Awareness held on 17th &#038; 18th February 2026 at the Belagavi Foundry Cluster. The sessions were conducted by Sachin M and Sangitaa Sharma from the ACMA Mobility Foundation, sponsored by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ). The workshop provided practical insights into ESG principles, CBAM requirements, environmental compliance, sustainability practices, and grievance redressal mechanisms in industrial clusters. The program was coordinated by Dr. Anand K. Hosamani, MSME Coordinator, JCE, and attended by 6th Semester Mechanical Engineering students.</p>
<p>Objectives<br />
1.	To create awareness about Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles in industrial practices.<br />
2.	To familiarize students with Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) requirements and global compliance standards.<br />
3.	To understand sustainability practices followed in industrial clusters.<br />
4.	To provide exposure to environmental compliance and regulatory frameworks.<br />
5.	To enhance students’ knowledge of grievance redressal mechanisms and responsible business practices.<br />
Outcomes<br />

20 6th semester Mechanical Engineering students from JCE participated in Make – a – thon: Make for Belagavi(13–14 February 2026) under the Design Impact Movement hosted by Visvesvaraya Technological University. The event was powered by Titan Company Limited and supported by InUnity, focusing on stakeholder engagement, collaborative learning, and hands-on prototype development to promote community-driven innovation. The program was coordinated and mentored by Dr. Anand K. Hosamani, with the presence of distinguished delegates Ritika Gandhi, Dr. Ujwal Urubail, Santosh Ittanagi, Sujay Shetty, and Arjun Datta Majumdar.</p>
<p>Objectives<br />
1.	To promote design thinking and community-driven problem-solving among students.<br />
2.	To encourage stakeholder engagement for identifying real-world challenges in Belagavi.<br />
3.	To provide hands-on experience in prototype development and innovation.<br />

Kimura Foundry India (KFI), the Indian subsidiary of Kimura Foundry Japan, visited Jain College of Engineering, Belagavi, and held a detailed interaction with the Head of the Mechanical Engineering Department and faculty members. It was highly beneficial and marked an important step toward strengthening Industry–Institute collaboration. The interaction provided opportunities for future partnerships in internships, training, research, and technical development. Such collaborations play a vital role in enhancing student employability, industry readiness, and academic excellence.</p>

On the occasion of Republic Day (26th January 2026), the Department of Mechanical Engineering organized an online Parents’ Meeting to share recent developments, student activities, and placement progress for the academic year 2025–26.Dr. B. V. Hubballi highlighted departmental achievements, training initiatives, student clubs such as Go Kart Club, UDAAN Club, and SEC, along with the steady growth in placements, mentioning that 34 students were placed at Ronch Polymers Pvt. Ltd. Dr. J. Shivakumar delivered the presidential remarks, emphasizing accreditation and institutional development, while parents appreciated the placement efforts and expressed satisfaction with the department’s overall growth.Event coordinator – Prof. Rajshekhar U<br />
Objectives<br />
1.	To brief about the recent developments and Infrastructure in the institute as well as the department.<br />

<p>The 5th Semester Mechanical Engineering students, accompanied by faculty members Dr. Anand K. Hosamani, Prof. Pavan Padara, Prof. Narayan M., and Prof. Rajshekhar Unni, visited MG Motors as part of their academic enrichment program. Mr. Subham Chougle briefed the students about various departments including Quality, Planning, Welding, and Assembly of parts, along with an overview of the company profile. Faculty members elaborated on topics such as Design, Manufacturing, Production, Planning, and Sales, giving students a comprehensive understanding of the automobile industry.<br />
Objectives:<br />
•	To familiarize students with the organizational structure, workflow, and functions of different departments in an automobile manufacturing company.<br />
•	To bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical applications in design, production, quality control, and assembly processes.<br />
