Objective Of The Activity/Event :-
The objectives of Matrubhasha, or mother tongue, encompass preserving cultural identity, fostering effective communication, and enhancing cognitive development. It serves as a vital tool for education, promoting a deeper understanding of subjects. Matrubhasha plays a crucial role in preserving traditions, literature, and heritage, contributing to social cohesion. Linguistic diversity is celebrated through the promotion of Matrubhasha, fostering inclusivity and tolerance. Additionally, it aids in cognitive skills development, offering a strong foundation for learning additional languages. Overall, the objectives of Matrubhasha aim to nurture cultural richness, effective communication, and holistic cognitive growth within a society.

SUMMARY OF THE EVENT IN BRIEF:-
To spark and encourage an enthusiasm for learning Indian languages ,Jain College of Engineering ,Belagavi, organised a Bharatiya Bhasha Utsav under SEC on 16h December 2023 to commemorate Janma Jayanti of Subramania Bharati, a great nationalist poet. Radhika Mithari and Saakshi Shetty, student co-ordinators of Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat club hosted the event. Radhika explained the significance of languages. Dr. Manjula V. Kallyanshetti, staff co-ordinator of Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat club welcomed the gathering. She spoke about how languages shape the mind and wisdom of the society and Languages bring the people together. She explained how the EBSB aims to acquaint the youth with the inherent oneness of all Bhartiya Bhashas, i.e, to celebrate the rich variety and wonders of Bhartiya Bhashas, with the theme भाषाएँअनेक, भावएक’ to show how language learning can be a fun and enjoyable experience. Dr. J Shivkumar Principal and Director of JCE, Belagavi enlightened that there is a need to strengthen, ”language harmony”, to develop a conducive environment for learning more and more Indian languages apart from mastering one’s own mother tongue .He also highlighted that we should try and encourage to learn other languages of India, so that one can respect and celebrate other cultures too. Celebrating “Bharatiya Bhasha Utsav‟ will, therefore, give us all a sense of unity and introduce us to the beautiful cultural heritage and diversity of India.
In this view, various competitions were organised by Fine art club, Orator club , Cultural club and Media club under SEC which fosters unity and respect for different cultures. Many students, took part enthusiastically. Singing, Dancing, Mono act play, and other activities were held. The vivacious dancers set the floor on fire with their energetic performances.
The children showcased their creative skills in drawing and colouring and the result was amazing art work .This fun filled activity witnessed an enthusiastic participation by many students.
Students showed a lot of interest in the Elocution competition and participated with greater energy. Winners were announced and prizes will be distributed on Republic Day.
