The National Science Day was celebrated on 28th February to commemorate the discovery of the ‘Raman Effect’ by one of the renowned Physicist of India- Sir Chandrasekhara Venkata Raman. The objective was to encourage scientific thinking and spread a message about the importance of science used in the daily life of the people. It also aimed to promote better understanding of concepts of pure science among students.
On the eve of National Science Day celebration, The Association of Basic Science at Jain College of Engineering, Belagavi organized various virtual events like:
Drawing and Painting: Channel your inner artist by drawing or painting a picture of your favourite scientist.
Rangoli: Get creative with rangoli by depicting science-related themes and concepts.
Mehandi: Explore the fusion of art and science by creating mehndi designs inspired by scientific elements.
Writing: Craft an insightful article on the life and contributions of your favourite scientist.
Demonstrations: Showcase scientific phenomena with explanations of the underlying principles behind them
Photography: Capture everyday objects and phenomena and elucidate the scientific principles behind them.
Creative Arts: Dive into DIY projects that merge creativity with scientific concepts.
Quiz:To spread awareness about the significance of science and its applications in our lives.
Competitions like these provide a platform for students to showcase their talents and fostered a spirit of scientific inquiry among them. More than 100 students participated in all events. The winners of each competition demonstrated exceptional skills and knowledge.
