About:
20 6th semester Mechanical Engineering students from JCE participated in Make – a – thon: Make for Belagavi(13–14 February 2026) under the Design Impact Movement hosted by Visvesvaraya Technological University. The event was powered by Titan Company Limited and supported by InUnity, focusing on stakeholder engagement, collaborative learning, and hands-on prototype development to promote community-driven innovation. The program was coordinated and mentored by Dr. Anand K. Hosamani, with the presence of distinguished delegates Ritika Gandhi, Dr. Ujwal Urubail, Santosh Ittanagi, Sujay Shetty, and Arjun Datta Majumdar.
Objectives
1. To promote design thinking and community-driven problem-solving among students.
2. To encourage stakeholder engagement for identifying real-world challenges in Belagavi.
3. To provide hands-on experience in prototype development and innovation.
4. To enhance teamwork, collaborative learning, and interdisciplinary interaction.
5. To foster solution-oriented thinking aligned with social and industrial needs.
Outcomes
1. Students developed innovative prototype solutions addressing local community challenges.
2. Enhanced practical understanding of design impact methodologies and innovation processes.
3. Improved teamwork, communication, and collaborative problem-solving skills.
