OBJECTIVEOFTHEEVENT:
The IEEE WIE Day 2026 Webinar was organized on 07 July 2026 with the objective of celebrating IEEE Women in Engineering (WIE) Day by creating awareness about sustainability, environmental conservation, and the importance of protecting natural resources. The webinar aimed to educate students and faculty on the role of seed conservation and sustainable practices in achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Through the expert talk by Dr. Nagaveni Aspalli, participants were encouraged to understand the significance of biodiversity, environmental responsibility, and scientific innovation in building a sustainable future.
The event also aimed to provide a platform for students to interact with an experienced speaker, gain practical knowledge beyond classroom learning, and develop awareness about current environmental challenges. It encouraged participants to think critically about sustainable development and inspired them to adopt eco-friendly practices in their daily lives.
Another important objective was to promote the vision and mission of IEEE Women in Engineering (WIE) by fostering learning, leadership, professional development, and community engagement. The webinar also motivated students to actively participate in IEEE WIE activities, research initiatives, and future technical events, thereby enhancing their academic, professional, and social responsibility towards society and the environment.
