About Event
Belagavi, August 30, 2026: Jain College of Engineering (JCE), Belagavi, organized “Shubha Aarambha – First Year Engineering Inauguration 2026–27” at Laxmi Mangal Karyalay, Peeranwadi, Belagavi, to warmly welcome newly admitted students and their parents.
The programme began with the felicitation of Mrs. Shraddha Khatawate, Principal Dr. J. Shivakumar, Dean IEC Dr. Sanjeev Sangami, and First Year Coordinator Dr. Prashant Patil, followed by the auspicious lighting of the lamp. Dr. Prashant Patil delivered the welcome address and greeted the students and parents.
Principal Dr. J. Shivakumar briefed the gathering about the college’s academic achievements, infrastructure, student activities, clubs, and the newly installed Idea Lab. He also shared valuable guidance and encouraged students to actively participate in academic, co-curricular and skill-development activities.
The highlight of the programme was the felicitation of VTU examination toppers—Kartik P. Patil (9.60 CGPA), Rasika Savakonkar (9.48 CGPA), and Bhumika Shinde (9.48 CGPA)—in the presence of their parents. B.J. Shreyas (CSE), Prajwal Honwad (ECE), and Kranti Birje (CSE) were also recognized for their outstanding performance in SIP 2026.
Mrs. Shraddha Khatawate delivered the presidential address and motivated the students, while Dr. Sanjeev Sangami, Dean IEC, offered inspiring guidance for their academic and professional journey. The programme was effectively anchored by Dr. S. Rohitraj, Head, MBA Department. Dr. Manuprasad B.K., Head, Department of Chemistry, proposed the vote of thanks.
The programme concluded with SEC activities, marking an auspicious and inspiring beginning to the engineering journey of the new batch. The event created a positive and memorable start for the students at Jain College of Engineering, Belagavi.

Objectives

•To warmly welcome newly admitted first-year engineering students and their parents to Jain College of Engineering, Belagavi.
•To introduce students to the college’s academic facilities, infrastructure, clubs, Idea Lab, and various student-development activities.
•To motivate students by recognizing and felicitating academic toppers and outstanding performers in SIP 2026.
•To guide and inspire students to actively participate in academic, co-curricular, skill-development, and SEC activities for their overall growth.

Outcomes

•Students and parents gained awareness of the college’s academic environment, facilities, clubs, and student-support initiatives.
•Students were motivated to strive for academic excellence through the recognition of VTU examination toppers and SIP 2026 achievers.
•Students understood the importance of co-curricular, skill-development, and SEC activities in their overall professional development.
•The programme helped students begin their engineering journey with confidence, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude toward their academic and professional goals.
