Film screening for students was arranged on 21.09.2019 by Electrical & Electronics Engineering Department, Jain College of Engineering, Belagavi under the aegis of Department students’ association TESLA & The Institute of Engineers (India), students chapter (Electrical).
Motivational film clips and documentaries were displayed to students for a successive quiz round based on the films shown. Students were divided into two batches for the screening. The films included a documentary on the life of scientist, inventor and designer of Alternating Current, Nikola Tesla. Two other video clips on how power grid works and how a substation operates were also shown. After each screening, quiz round was held based on questionnaire on the films shown. Batch of winning students were awarded with prizes by students’ association TESLA & The Institute of Engineers (India), students chapter (Electrical).
Dr. K.G. Vishwanath, Principal and Director, Jain College of Engineering, appreciated the effort of organizing such an event by the staffs of Electrical & Electronics Engineering Department. Dr. G. H. Kulkarni, HOD (EEE) emphasized that such activities play an important role in the teaching-learning process of the students. He also addressed that to gather and acquire knowledge these activities are required apart from regular course of curriculum and that students should imbibe them.
The event was structured by Dr. Tamalika Chowdhury, Prof. Shubha Baravani, coordinators of students association TESLA and Prof. Vinod S. Patil, staff advisor of IE(I) students chapter (Electrical).
