Jain College of Engineering Belagavi (JCE) organized Faculty Development Program (FDP) on “Trends and Challenges in Next Generation Energy Technologies” on 10th -12th June 2020, by the Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering. The FDP is supported by Jain Group of Institutions (JGI) and IE(I) Students Chapter (Electrical).

 

The inauguration ceremony started with opening of the session with the invocation song by 6th semester students. Head of the EEE department Dr. G.H. Kulkarni, welcomed all the dignitaries, speakers, faculty members, staffs and participants. He stated the goals of the academic researchers to stimulate policy debates and anticipate issues likely to emerge as a result of, first, policy mistakes or omissions, and second, changing economic or societal contexts. He also focussed on the scope of trends in modern energy technology highlighting the practical problems and possible solutions for the same. He also emphasized that the FDP further aims to offer a great opportunity to bring together professors, researchers & industrialists around the globe on a virtual platform to share ideas and highlight on the recent technologies. The program started with lighting the lamp.

The delegates in the program were from premier institutions and industry across India for an intensive exposure to teaching, research and development. Shree Giridhar Kulkarni, Superintendent Engineer, HESCOM, Belagavi deliberated the first session on “Challenges in Next Generation Energy Technologies”.

The second session was addressed by Dr. Pratyasa Bhui, IIT Dharwad on “Impact of Renewable Energy Integration on Power System Stability”

Dr. C.K. Chanda, Professor from Department of Electrical Engineering, Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology, Shibpur (IIEST Shibpur) addressed about the “Basics of Solar Forecasting” on the final session of the FDP.

In house expert Professor and HOD Dr. G.H. Kulkarni addressed his session on “Next Generation Electrical Technologies and Electric Policies”.
