The department is proud of its strong Alumni Base which always supports various activities of the department.
Academic Programs & Excellence
The department offers a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in Civil Engineering and a Postgraduate program (M.Tech) in Construction Technology, focusing on advanced construction practices, project management, and modern technological tools. Students of the department have bagged 3rd & 4th rank respectively to the University & a Gold Medal at UG level and a total of 33 ranks are bagged by the students in Masters Program with 6 gold medals. The department is also recognized as a research center under Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), encouraging scholarly research and innovation.
State-of-the-Art Infrastructure
The department is equipped with well-established laboratories which include Material Testing, Concrete Technology, Highway Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Surveying, Hydraulics, Environmental Engineering, CAD and Structural Analysis laboratories. These facilities enable students to translate theoretical knowledge into hands-on practice and real-world applications.
Placements, Career Pathways & Competitive Success
The Department of Civil Engineering takes pride in its strong career outcomes and diverse professional pathways. More than 85% of the students are successfully placed or have ventured into self-employment. Other graduates are actively preparing for higher aspirations, including competitive qualification examinations such as GATE and various State and Central Government recruitment examinations (PWD, Irrigation, PSUs, and other engineering services). This balanced ecosystem reflects the department’s commitment to nurturing industry-ready professionals, entrepreneurs, and future public-sector leaders.
Faculty Excellence & Mentorship
The strength of the department lies in its highly qualified and dedicated faculty members, many of whom possess doctoral degrees, industry experience, and active research profiles. Faculties follow Outcome-Based Education (OBE) practices and emphasize experiential learning, innovation, and ethical engineering. A structured mentoring system ensures holistic development, academic guidance, and career counseling for students.
Holistic Student Development
