The department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering will be organizing one day visit to “220 kV SWITCHING STATION, KANABARGI, BELAGAVI” on 15th November 2024, for 3rd semester students.
The intent of organising this visit was to cover basic idea on Electric power generation, transmission and distribution. The visit was technically headed by Mr. Ramesh Sutar, Assistant Executive Engineer, KPTCL, Belagavi, the students got understanding on the brief working of power generation using various sources available and briefed on of layout of transmission lines, distribution lines, feeders and control panels required for power transmission and distribution along with protection schemes. Additionally students were also taken to the outfield field around the substations where students were also keen to see and understood various protective equipments like power transformers, bus bars, Circuit breakers, CTs, PTs, Isolators, Lightning Arresters, earthling devices.
A brief outcome of this industrial visit includes a brief understanding on overall working of power transmission system, necessity and importance of electrical safety, protecting devices. Also students got to know opportunities in the power sector during the course and after completing the course successfully. The visit was accompanied by Prof. Megha Sankpal, and Prof. Ashok Bajantri, Asst. Prof, EEE Department.
